Last Saturday I went to visit a friend, Valeria, at her gift shop,
"Churrinche", at San Isidro’s downtown, outside Buenos Aires, to make a note that I had as a homework for the e-course I'm doing

El Sábado fui a visitar a una amiga, Valeria, a su almacén de regalos,“Churrinche”, en el centro de San Isidro en las afueras de Buenos Aires, para hacerle una nota que tengo como deber para el e-course BYW que estoy haciendo online, desarrollado y dictado por Holly Becker.
Valerie is originally a theater director and stage design and simultaneously worked for several years in a home-deco store. ... _ "after years of hard work there, one day they decided to replace me for three 18" _... she says with her usual good humor, warmth and expressiveness. She then decided to capitalize the her gained experience and last year opened her own store of deco-objects (picture) in the neighborhood where she always lived and which she feels part of.
Valeria es, originalmente, directora de teatro y de escenografía y, paralelamente, trabajó durante algunos años en una casa de decoración… _ “después de años de trabajar duramente para una firma un día decidieron cambiarme por tres de 18 años”_... nos cuenta con su habitual buen humor, simpatía y expresividad. Decidió capitalizar la experiencia ganada y el año pasado tomó la decisión de abrir su propio local de objetos deco para la casa en el barrio donde siempre vivió y del cual ella se siente parte.
Churrinche is the name of a bird with vibrant red color. According to the tehuelche´s legend, this bird, initially gray, was blood wounded in his chest by a spine when he faced a giant who had locked his friend Ulian and in return and thankfully, Ulian cured the bird and decided to give him the blood color on his feathers as a sign of courage and bravery, for overcoming fears and limitations.
Churrinche es el nombre de un pájaro de color rojo vibrante. Según la leyenda tehuelche, éste pajarito, inicialmente gris, fue herido de sangre en su pecho por una espina cuando se enfrentó a un gigante que había encerrado a su amigo Ulian y éste, agradecido, lo curó y le decidió que llevaría el color de la sangre en su plumaje como muestra de coraje y valentía, venciendo miedos y limitaciones.
The choice of color for the front, local and stationery was based on this legend. But Valeria did not stopped there, she put her touch on her store and transcribed to a wall (photo) this legend that gives us an idea of the spirit of the owner. What a good idea to customize a wall with some text that represents us, especially in a store space, inviting us to check their objects with a different mood , what do you think?
Basándose en ésta leyenda fue la elección del color para el frente, el local y la papelería. Pero Valeria no se quedó ahí, sino que puso en su local su sello personal transcribiendo en una pared del local ( foto) ésta leyenda que nos da una idea del espíritu de su dueña… Que buena idea personalizar una pared con algún texto que nos represente y especialmente en un store, invitándonos a revisar sus objetos con otro ánimo, que te parece?
Valeria says ..._" is not only a gift shop but for me it is a mission to accomplish, give joy, to let them know that I'm here to help or I can just hear what I want people wants to talk about "_... (Wow! never have occurred to me that I would hear something like that when I went to interview her)

Valeria nos cuenta ..._”no solo es un almacén de regalos sino que para mi es una misión a cumplir, entregar alegría, que sepan que estoy acá para ayudarlos o que simplemente puedo escuchar lo que me quieran contar”_... (Wow! Nunca se me hubiera ocurrido que iba a escuchar algo así cuando fui a entrevistarla)... Tendremos todos una misión?
In Churrinche we can find many different objects to make a gift that Valeria carefully selects looking after their clients budget. We can find individual mugs or play with its plates, design by author objects, original deco items such as crocheted cactus, cupcackes baking containers, leather line objects, paintings, art objects, etc.
En Churrinche podemos encontrar los más diversos objetos para hacer un regalo que Valeria misma selecciona poniendo especial cuidado en cuidar el presupuesto de su clientela. Podemos encontrar desde mugs individuales o en juego con sus tazas, originales objetos deco como los cactus tejidos a crochet, contenedores de cupcackes para horno, objetos de línea cuero, cuadros, objetos de arte, etc.
Churinche is open from Monday to Friday from 10 am. to 19:30 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 14 pm. and 24 hours on Facebook.

I loved how Valeria customized her work, share her ideas about life with its customers and invites us to think about. This legend and got me thinking about how we overcome our fears and limitations at different moments in our lives.
